National Friends of Libraries Week Oct. 18-24, 2020

This week, we celebrate Friends of Libraries all over the country! The Friends of Evelyn Meador Library have pledged to work with the Harris County Public Library and the City of Seabrook to make our library a wonderful resource for our coastal community. Our fundraising efforts help purchase upgraded furnishings and equipment that are aesthetically appealing and enhance the overall library experience. There are many levels of giving. As a 501(c)(3) organization, the library provides receipts for donations, all of which are tax deductible. Please help us build a state of the art library for the citizens of Seabrook and the surrounding area. Your gift will make a lasting contribution to this community! Here are a few ways that you can help support the Evelyn Meador Library:

You can also choose to donate gently used books that we can later sell in our bookstore or online. Or you can volunteer a few hours a week in our bookstore.

There are so many ways to give; pick the option that fits your lifestyle! Thank you for your support to keep Evelyn Meador Library vibrant and relevant in our community.

Friends of Evelyn Meador Library Seabrook History Collection is Growing!

The University of Houston-Clear lake is curating a digital collection for us! It includes many photos, articles, and memos that were collected and displayed by the Friends over many years. The content displays the rich history of our beloved coastal city and how it has changed over the years. Click here to access the collection. Documents can be viewed, downloaded, and printed. Enjoy!

Phase 1 of the Evelyn Meador Community Garden Complete!

Seabrook Rotaract is leading this project with financial support from the Friends of Evelyn Meador Library. Rotaract clubs bring together young professionals to exchange ideas with leaders in the community, develop leadership and professional skills, and have fun through service. Seabrook Rotaract is an extension of Seabrook Rotary. Phase 1 of the project consists of a beautiful community herb garden. Phase 2 is currently being planned and will include tree plantings on the trail grounds next to the library. Stay tuned for more updates and volunteer opportunities!
