Book Donations Needed!

Doing a little spring cleaning? If you have gently used books you would like to donate, bring them by the Friends Bookstore! We’re located inside the Evelyn Meador Library just as you enter through the main doors to the left. We accept all gently used books; no magazines, cassettes or VHS tapes, please. We’re typically open when the library is open if volunteers are available to staff it. All money raised by the Friends Bookstore support Evelyn Meador Library programs. Donations can be dropped off at the bookstore during normal operating hours. Please call ahead for large donations so that we can arrange for storage. We look forward to seeing you!

National Library Week is April 3–9!

Help Support the 2022 Summer Reading Program!

“Oceans of Possibilities” is the theme of the HCPL 2022 Summer Reading Program

While the library offers many programs throughout the year, none is more anticipated than the annual Summer Reading Program. You can help the Harris County Friends of the Library support Harris County Public Library’s Summer Reading Program by donating during National Library Week, April 3-9. As one of our Kingwood Library customers says: “Love how there are so many opportunities for the kids when it comes to programming.”

You can donate three ways:

  1. Text YOURFRIEND to 44-321
  2. Go to our website hcfol.org
  3. Send a check made out to HCFOL to
    Harris County Public Library
    HCFOL
    5749 South Loop East
    Houston, TX 77033

Remember, HCFOL supports programs for the entire Harris County library system, including Evelyn Meador Library. Looking forward to seeing you there!
